Some Russians do object, and usually it was seen as a justification for a blatant land grab, but it got normalized big time after Biden decided to declare all of Russia's US dollar foreign exchange reserves void and ordered confiscation of gold worth more than the gold sent to Russia to pay for Alaska while also seizing Russian citizens traveling abroad and Russian oil tankers which also were carrying more valuable cargo. In effect, Biden's actions are seen as a reversal of the Alaska purchase.

It's not too different from the hohols who decided they didn't need to repay their national debt owed to Russia and instead chose to declare that the national debt was the fault of "Russian traitors" living in the southeast who promptly rebelled after being declared enemies of the state. We're now eleven years into the anti-terrorist operation and they're still not considering repaying the debts they owe to Russia; they're just surrendering the land instead.
