Yeah most AI horror stories are either incorrectly interpreted orders or the machine somehow developing a God Complex, but I think this second one comes from half understandings of old psychoanalysis stuff where it's inconceivable for an intelligence to not 1. compare itself to other intelligences to assign itself some kind of relational value, and 2. resent any interaction other than adoration from intelligences valued lesser to itself.
