conversations with christians be like
>do you believe in god
>define god
>*insert nicene creed here*
>define believe
>think to be true
>erm actually i'm a chrisitan but i'm err, a high iq christian you see so erm, i'm gonna keep calling myself christan and uh,, insist that it's true and you shoud say that too but uh... i'm not answering this one...
or better yet
>erm, I define god as more of like a, uhh, conciousness or something... basically indistinguishable to if it wasn't there... yeah i know it's not in the bible or anything but uh... yeah... jesus doesn't really factor in either...
Just say you're an atheist but you want a socially accpetable excuse to hate gays or whatever, if you don't think what the bible says happened happened then you believe the bible is lying to you since that's what it says happened. You don't pick up a biography of Abraham Lincoln, think it's full of fake stories that didn't happen (while presenting itself as a biography) AND think it's truthful at the same time, that's just not possible.
And if you think it's a work of fiction with good morals in the story, "i believe in the bible" has as much weight to it as "i believe in harry potter" or "i believe in undertale".
