The original fan ideas of her being a mostly normal nervous girl, that always got involved in the sonic crew shenanigans by accident, was a pretty cute and funny way to write her.

People think the restoration as a whole was a problem, the real problem was having the main characters being way too much involved with it, because all of the sonic characters are supposed to be adventurers.

Lanolin fits because she was an actual civilians, unlike whisper who was an actual soldier, or tangle who's main objective was being part of,the sonic crew.
If i had to make her an actual game character, I would try to just mellow, her abrasive personality, to make her more nicer, but you can be sure I would try with all my might to get her as far as possible from tangle and whisper. The same wit he them, for some reason tangle and whisper suck a lot when they are together.
