I don't know what the fuck is wrong with 3D artists in the industry. They just seem extremely unskilled. They can't follow concept art, they can't mocap, they can't animate, they can't light, they can't texture, and they can't facescan. I've learned most of those skills on my own as a fucking amateur, for making FREE PORN MODELS.
Then you look at what the Yakuza devs are doing with VF6, and they've clearly just face-scanned a random instathot into the game, and it looks great. And it's supposed to look great without too much effort, that's the entire point. The industry literally adopted facescans as standard to save time and money compared to sculpting. But apparently today's 3D hires just can't do it. They can't follow professional-quality concept art and they can't make it look good when putting an actual supermodel into their game engine. It takes the best animation team in the business to do something SIMPLE.
