I believe it's finished, I read it years ago but I do remember the ending feeling abrupt. Also heard that the manga drags things out so the original LN is probably better. I enjoyed the art though.

Yeah afaik there are a bunch of side projects with interesting enough premises, I'm surprised no studio jumped on the opportunity and just let the property (deservedly) die off.
