Ignoring that your FtM example doesn't pass at all, you are correct that internet troons will present as passing much better than they do (using angles, image editing, filters, etc.) both for clout and to try and recruit vulnerable people with a false reality. You can find tranny conversations online where they fetishize "cracking eggs," i.e., convincing people to troon out, and there does seem to be a hearty social contagion element to the whole transgender phenomenon.
