Its a definitive cultural stagnation and decline in many avenues of life, but films have got it the worst. Its far too agenda driven; almost everything. You can't go to the movies for escapism without still being bombarded with modern politics and social issues and its subtlety is lost on current generation of content makers and is so shoved in your face, its a turn off. The talent of the industry, in effects lighting, acting, all retired or were unceremoniously shown the door for not aligning their views with he current paradigm and thus, bland unimaginative shit is left to fill the void. Video games and other avenues of entertainment have emerged, but the problem with video games is that its industry is filled with people who failed to get into the film industry and the film industry is left with people who don't understand the video game industry. And Hollywood and those behind AAA games must absolutely hate sinking billions into games no one plays when three or four nerds in a basement can make one that outsells all of them with pocket change.
Then, there is the intentional sabotaging of stories that would make great films and franchises and the cultural vandalism done to established ones. Its the envy of having not been creative enough to have made it themselves coupled with the disdain they have for the fanbase that made it popular in the first place, so they destroy it because they fail to make anything new.
I think the answer is to either endeavour to make your own movies but if you're of the introvert kind, endeavour to make your own 3D films. The tech is now there and so affordable that you could make Hollywood blockbuster quality cinema yourself and with the bar lowered thanks to shit like cinematic universe franchises crapping out movies with jeet-tier CGI standards, it could look absolutely crappy but still be more kino than those money-laundering operations being lauded as modern cinema.
It has to be intentional.
