Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro and to a certain extent even Elden Ring are genuine masterpieces and contain real creativity and occult elements. Dark Souls 2 was in many ways a cash grab that ended up beautiful in spite of itself. Dark Souls 3 I find to be very derivative and visually boring, but its story ties the Souls series together perfectly, and it gave the masses what they wanted from a Souls game all along. I think if Miyazaki chooses to make an original piece of art, he can still do it, and I'll probably still buy on release. Won't do it for anyone else.
