Original Overlord WN wasn't that bad and it did have some neat moments but as a whole it was really boring.

Most of the LN/Editor changes were focused on having Ainz actually do something or having something actually happen in the story. Like Ainz going out and having adventures as Momon or Shalltear brainwashing arc.
In comparison original WN ended up with a literal Academy arc.
