I got taught about that stuff in classes that touch on feminism and psychology and sex, and the books were written in like, the 80s. Stuff about how heterosexual sex is inherently oppressive and degrading for women. That was how they came up with the term "sex-positive feminism", so the cooler feminists could say "Hey, I'm not like that!" I guess around 2014 or so, millennial feminists rediscovered sex-negativity. So I guess this is the second wave of sex-negative feminism.
As for the conservative edgy cool girls, I just saw another one of these articles today:
