Ayane insisted it would be inappropriate if you gave any gold, considering you had already given so much to Ai and Eisho and her family as a whole, despite how you assumed that you would need to give some actual gold to them since you had so much of it now.

The receptionist, also a kitsune, gave you a small box— a koden-gaeshi, was meant as a 'return gift' for the money brought. It contained salt, tea, and some snacks.

Eventually you get to your seat next to Ayane, in the area that's for the family of the deceased.
