Mostly accurate but you're getting mixed up on who Awakening fans actually are. Awakening fans ARE 3H fans, largely, and "clash" with Fates fans, who have always been weebier and nastier. There's overlap, but your normie Awakeningfag tends to cluster closer to "story-centric" games like 3H and SoV. It represented the first wave of normies into the franchise.

There are people who to this day denigrate Fates writing and uplift Awakening writing. They're dimly aware of the harsh criticism Awakening received at best, or disregard it completely at worst. The game had a sort of reappraisal in the post-Fates climate, where there were attempts to rehabilitate it into a "pretty good and traditional FE game." It seems like you're less likely than ever to find out and out oldfag shit on it; they've been displaced by the sheer numbers of Awakeningbabbs. Ultimately storyfags will forgive any sin if they like the characters, so Awakening gets honorary "good FE game" status, but the only people who really love Fates nowadays are sweaty gameplayfags and nerds.
