The Skirmish continues and by the end of it the men have routed or killed the remaining border guards.

One of the Platoon leads gives Oswald a thumbs up and cautiously cross the bridge however in the distance you see a platoon of men break off from the fighting and make a mad dash for the bridge to retake it. Bravo Platoon opens up at the approaching enemy only for another border guard platoon to come from the south to start firing on their flanks. Oswald upon seeing this springs into action and orders Echo and Dog out of their vehicles before leading them along with charlie across the bridge. An Intense Firefight ensues as the Kinsley's Armored Recon Squad supports the infantry units however Bravo being caught out takes a fair bit of casualties, Oswald himself goes down for a brief moment but manages to crawl and then limp himself into one of the abandoned fortifications the enemy left behind.

The Firefight continues but comes to a stop as the enemy disengages and moves east away from your men, seems that you have won the day. Even more good news come in as tilly has made contact on the radio

You move up to fully secure the bridge in doing so you come across a sign pointing in multiple directions and a corresponding town name. To your east appears to be Lonato, the largest town in the area. To your South Montichiero, A city heavily defended and being taken by another commander, one assigned more resources. To your North is Bedizzole which you can clearly see is on fire and multiple sporadic firefights taking place across that town. You also know that there is another crossing to your south though it may have been abandoned by the border guard units it may be easy pickings for your squad. Command encourages you to secure the towns if at all possible to draw units away from the Montichiero crossings but reminds you that your main objective is to hold that crossing until the bulk of the army can arrive in force.
