I'm currently working on a short novel entirely via "automatic writing", like surrealist poets. The idea is that a plot would emerge as I just wrote down every word I think about. It started as an exercise to forced myself to write something, since I normally get too stuck in thinking about stories instead of writing them down, so I never finish my novels; this one will conclude when it reaches 150 pages. Right now the story is surprisingly coherent: it's about a guy who is born a country destroyed by war, after which a new experimental government is installed, the "trisectarian state", where the state works under the consensus of three religious/philosophical/ideological sects. The main character tells the story of his youth, his romantic misadventures and his clashes with the three sects
