>“Let’s go to the Fodlan Embassy first. I’m tired and could use a bit of a rest. Besides, we should regroup with the others. Maybe they’ve already run into Elric.”

You and Chelsey leave the Royal Palace for the outside and find that night has already fallen. Despite the absence of sun, you’re surprised to find that the city is still illuminated. On every street that you walk through, you find strange poles made of iron, the tops of which radiate a light that drives away the darkness. You’d never seen anything like it! If you were back in Rusalka, you’d have been expected to carry a torch around during night just to enjoy a paltry amount of light. As you walk together, Chelsey notices you staring at them in wonder.

“What? You don’t have streetlights in Fodlan?” She asks. Evidently she’d already grown used to this.

>“Of course not. How do they work?”

“Beats me.” She shrugs. “Some mages come around and light them up every night with their magic. I guess I can understand how one might find them amazing though, if you’ve never seen them before.

You and Chelsey continue to attract no shortage of looks from the citizenry in Morfis. Perhaps because of the addition of these streetlights, you find that there are still a plethora of people walking around the city. Morfis seemed remarkably different to you at night. As if it were an entirely different place. In a way, you found you were captivated by the dazzling lights and the strange buildings and people. You start making a mental list of the things you’d wish to bring back with you to Fodlan, should you ever return. Eventually, you and Chelsey find yourself on a street that contains a row of large dwellings, reminiscent of the mansions you’d seen many of the affluent families of Enbarr living in. It is here that you no longer see Morfisians, but Fodlanders, walking about as if they naturally belonged.

“Some of these homes have been repurposed to serve as makeshift embassies.” Chelsey informs you as you begin walking down the street. “Each nation that has a representative competing has their own, with additional housing for their vassals.”

>“Each nation, huh? Just how many are there?” You ask, your head on a swivel as you examine the various house insignias present amongst the Fodlan vassals walking around.

“Well, the large majority of the competitors are from Fodlan. But, from what I gathered while you were speaking with Bronte, there are also competitors from Sreng, Almyra, and even farther off places like Dagda and Brigid.”

>“Brigid and Dagda…wow. I can’t believe someone would travel all that way just to lose.”

“Brigid has sent one champion. Dagda has sent three.” Chelsey informs you. “As for Almyra and Sreng, they have one each. All the warriors from those countries apparently knew enough to fall in-line behind their chosen champions.”
