I usually revist Kanto and Johto the most. Most Hoenn revisits tend to be hacks/mods because they're the most flexible for that. As much as I love the older games, Masuda's game design is too frustrating most often to really enjoy replays. While Platinum actually patches a lot of the issues with Sinnoh, it still takes a while to start getting into the "good" part of the game. And post-XY games were clearly never meant to be replayed so I end up just replaying the oldest games the most. Gen I in particular feels the most flexible and one time I even decided to take on Koga third

At least someone feels my issues with FRLG. The Sevii Islands being really horrible map design doesn't help. They're so cumbersome and frustrating to travel through compared to mainline regions, I genuinely don't know what happened there. Especially since he ended up making an even worse remake later
