Running this made me realize how fucking soulless our current dungeon design is. Even though the mechanics in here are rudimentary, they're still fun to do and provide a more entertaining experience than the current expert dungeons.
>trash mobs that interact with each other: interruptible transformation spells that transform mobs hit by it, showers that you can dump on trash mobs to give them debuffs
>mechanics that, if done incorrectly, can actually wipe the group (last boss's exploding add, for example, killed everyone but the tank in 2025 because people kept knocking it off the platform and onto the grates)
>ambient setting, very cool and memorable with good music
>a reward that's actually really fucking pretty, and expensive, giving you reasons to return (the verdant partition)
>unique glams
>fun mob designs, feels like you're fighting a forest possessed
So what happened? Did someone at Square who designed things with soul just give up and quit the company?
