And there's nothing particular wrong in that, everyone wants to feel comforted because no one is really in control of their own lives.
If it goes into things where "You want to die" that comes from a mix of your primal limbic brain getting its signals crossed, because death and sex exist in the same pathway thus causing the bit of fascination in it. There are other factors that play into it like your personality, your particular identity, and other things.
