It comes down to multiple factors:
1. Food standards being different per country creating a different ingredient baselike quality
2. Staff wages creating better or worse places to work for my next point
3. The turnover rate for food during rush-hours
We have FANTASTIC quality fast food down here, but it's relatively expensive because of both the quality required AND the low amount that gets made compared to the US, as an example.
