So technically “prison” in the US means you’re in state lockup, which happens often, but actually usually results in better conditions that one would experience in county jail, which is where you’re most likely to wind up spending your time should you ever find yourself in such a situation (Texas: come on vacation, leave on probation). There’s Xbox 360 or PS3 in most of the county jails, color TV in the common area. If you’d like to stay in your cell all day, which can be “private” if you choose to close the door(you’ll have to buzz them to ask to be let back out if you change your mind). Some cells are 1 bunk, some are 2, just depends on how lucky you are and how overcrowded the jail is. Here’s a good representation of the Collin County Jail in Texas.
