I have myself gone from approving, to disapproving, and to approving of them again. This board would be improved by adding them, and another website has been proving that to me almost monthly, and I only frequent a single general there at that. There are 3 things accomplished by poster IDs:
>defeats threadshitters
one ID posting nothing but rage bait or exclusively fresh IDs propagandizing the same shitpost = it's just an Indonesian angry about being Indonesian
>identifies regulars
those who do not care for their posts to be anonymous can be seen drumming up 50+ posts per thread. usually these are avatarfags who make themselves really obvious anyways, but it also works similarly to the old IP count (something where you poos who want it back suddenly somehow want to have LESS anonymity again, just saying). Are all these guys in love with Mercy? No it's just two obsessive superfans.
