Unless we acquire Diego Garcia before UK transfers it to a third country, it's likely they'll decide to expel us or at least take it to an international court. Of course, the new "owners" won't be able to kick us out if we decide to resist, but it might tarnish our diplomatic reputation. It's better to play it safe until negotiations on acquiring BIOT are complete.
