Honestly the only things I dislike about Civ 6 (not having played 'competitively' against others, if that's a concern) is the art style and that they downgraded from the epic surroundings when you interact with different characters.
My favourite part of Civ 5, what got me hooked to it originally, was that when you speak to someone you enter a vast throne room they hold court in, it's immersive and atmospheric.

In gameplay I would say Civ 6 is better in almost every way.
