I used to have a view like that on stuff. "Why does this small weak shit matter if there are things that could just end it all in an instant?" But goblin slayer of all things really changed my view on this like that because the answer is simple "yes, there are bigger things out there that need to be dealt with and are far beyond our smaller problems, but if no one deals with the smaller problems the smaller problems will grow and compile until they consume everything and are a much bigger problem than the big problem" yeah, sure Surtalogi is insanely powerful, but put him up against a infinite number of hilichurls and they will eventually overwhelm him even if it does take hundreds of years for him to grow tired and finally be overwhelmed. Simply put the traveler isn't powerful enough to deal with those bigger problems so the traveler must focus on the problems they can realistically tackle at this point.
