卍 On Āṣāḍha Pūrṇimā, in 528 BC, the Buddha delivered his first sermon at Mrigadava, Isipatana(Sarnath) and set the wheel of dharma in motion. He told his five disciples the four noble truths and the eightfold path. Right after, the monastic order of monks was established. This day marks the beginning of Buddhism.
