I remember reading about that well before watching Chinatown which made it even better. That kind of misconception isn't uncommon in big families with a ton of siblings where there's a 15-20 year age difference from eldest to youngest. My dad grew up in a similar household which is probably why I've never really understood why people always say that about them. It's a particularly big gap in their case though so I get it.
