Wow Yamato is so happy, I'm glad Oda gave us this cover story and allowing Beast Pirates a chance at redemption. Former bad guys getting a redeemed is my favorite trope in fiction. I like seeing it, cause it's peak One Piece Soul instead of holding grudges. As it stands, this is easily my favorite post-timeskip cover story now and I truly hope it continues for the rest of the year. It's been great seeing Yamato enjoy her freedom and she's a pure sweetheart that loves spreading joy and goodwill. I'm really looking forward to seeing who will show up or what happens in this cover story next. Of the scabbards, I think only Kiku is left, so for whatever Oda has planned it won't happen until we finish the original journey around the country. There's a lot of non-scabbards who haven't appeared and suspect characters unaccounted for too.

Oda has been doing the Sanji vs Zoro brotherly rivalry for so long, but I never get tired of seeing it, because he always balances it out by never letting one get too far ahead of the other and it's clear whatever new training Zoro undergoes, Sanji will eventually get an equivalent power up. It's only fitting that Loki's and Hajrudin's strained sibling relationship happens after this moment. I'm glad Oda is sticking to his guns on how he writes, despite powerlevel obsessed people, who don't understand One Piece, loudly complaining about nothing. Oda will continue to not make the growth of any of the Strawhats linear and that actually keeps me interesting in which powers they'll get next over the course of the series all the way until the end. Gaban may just be out of commission for the rest of Elbaf from his injuries, so if he's regulated to training Luffy and Zoro and inspiring Sanji off-panel, while we go through the flashback that should make for some nice pacing up until they face Imu, even if it means midbattle training. Right now though, I want some time with the flashback-within-a-flashback.
