The only use case of PC CRTs today is gaming. Consider, who is the typical gaming monitor buyer - a clueless probably underage gamer normie, who knows jack shit about picture quality or anything like that. Nobody currently bothers to engineer anything decent using current tech for such a market, why would anyone do actual R&D either?
It took even OLEDs nearly 2 decades to start appearing on PC monitors, and even that was just trickle down tech from TV R&D - consumer OLED monitors are literally cut up defect TV panels most of the time. All we get is chinese mass market garbage and defect TV panels. We'll never get anything purpose made for our needs. Nobody cares about PC monitor picture quality. Even in videophile circles sample&hold motion blur was not a well understood topic.
