>“Don’t worry, I’ll bring the little shit back.” You say, lifting yourself out of the water and grabbing a nearby rag to dry yourself. Though Elric was really not worth the trouble he was causing, he was still an old family friend. You weren’t about to let him do something this stupid now that you were so close to your goal. You think back to the sparring session he’d referenced in his note. Was his head so big because he managed to put up a fight back then? You had been aiming to knock the sword out of his hand, or best case scenario shatter it with a single swing. But he’d held onto Mysteltainn with a strength that defied logic. Looks like the damn thing was cursed after all. You’d have words for 99 if you ran into her again.
“Just how do you plan on catching up with him?” Alvin asks. The Adjunct had appeared while you’d been reading Elric’s note, sporting a concerned look on his face. “If he left last night, he’s likely already put quite some distance between us.”
>“I’ll go ahead on Fionn, obviously.”
“Alone?” Alvin asks. “Is that wise?”
>“Wise?” You ask, one eyebrow raised in disbelief. Adeline had brought you your armor, and you were already in the process of changing. “It’s Elric we’re talking about. He may have let this weird sword get to his head, but I’m not too worried about it.”
“We’re in this situation precisely because of that weird sword.” Cuthbert seethes. “Do you recall how he slaughtered those cultists? And then his duel with you? He’s getting stronger. How do you know whatever magic is imbued within that blade hasn’t caused him to progress even further?”
>“Fionn is strong, but he isn’t a pack mule.” You retort. “Even the addition of someone as light as May or Chelsey atop him would slow his speed considerably. He’d only put further distance between us.”
“Going alone may indeed be too dangerous, Lord Tristain.” Nadia warns. “You left that sword alone with me for some time. While I was unable to decipher its true nature, I could tell that there was a considerable amount of magic within. We may lose time on catching up to Elric, but it may be better to be safe than sorry.”
>A): Go after Elric alone
>B): Bring an ally (Who?)
>C): Fighting him out here may be too risky. Perhaps we should try looking for him in Morfis.
