I posted too that people didn't understand anime, but when i posted it i'm realized that maybe i was wrong about the plot too. I don't think it's the fault of the people or the staff. It was just difficult for the staff to fit everything into 13 episodes, and it was difficult for the people to notice everything because the pacing were too fast

And I personally find meaning in the director's words, but he's trying sound too confusing. It seems to me that if he really wants to explain something, he needs to speak without interpretation. Like "we and the screenwriters did it because we wanted to show it, to talk about it, masks mean it, stage names mean it" and so on
