Believe it or not, it's the characters. Plain and simple as, people even female players and fans stick to Genshin still because of the characters both male and female. Why else do you go to twitter or any art site and still see plenty of Genshin fan arts and porn that includes the old and newer male characters?l drawn by clearly female artists?
People still just like the characters, have grown attached to the characters and sexualize them. Including the yumes who still gush over Cheld, Neuvi, Wriothesly, Al'Haitham, Diluc, John Lee, Kaeya, etc.
