I disagree. I hear a lot of fans say this series has stakes because characters dies but the only somewhat important character who dies before the final arc that had any impact was Rengoku. Every other character had their deaths reserved for the finale and by that point, it was the safest time to kill them since the story's about to wrap up and everyone got their happy ending at the end of the day.
A lot of things in this series plays things out way too safe and the characters miraculously getting out of harsh situations are full of contrivances or coincidences in ways they did not earn and had no reason getting out of in the first place. Just have it so that they're not in that situation to begin with, or commit to killing them off in the first place. It's not a problem exclusive to Demon Slayer, but pretty much any shounen series. It's still annoying and breaks my suspension of disbelief.
