I'm personally betting on them selling to Microsoft after DE 2 either flops or gets canned.
MS has seemed to have some interest in the IP for years now, episodic releases seem like they would pair well with gamepass and generally MS just seems like they would be much more comfortable with such a queer IP compared to Square.
