The locals in many parts of Africa believe in magic soil. They don’t see white areas as being nice because white people made those areas nice. They see white areas as being nice because of magic, and the evil, selfish white people are trying to keep the magic all to themselves. They’ll complain endlessly that the white parts of the world don’t have litter all over the street, burnt-out cars sitting in vacant overgrown lots, and don’t have daily shootouts like the ghetto they’re from. It never occurs to them that they are the reason why the places they are from are so shitty. Then they’ll come over to those nice areas, make them exactly like where they came from, and not see the link
