US Ambassador to NATO Matt Whitaker said he understands Zelensky’s position that no large territories will simply be given up without a fight, but stressed the need to end the war and save thousands of lives through an agreement.

He called the upcoming Trump-organized meeting in Alaska “exciting,” saying Trump is the only one who can make it happen and is a true peacemaker, citing the recent Armenia-Azerbaijan deal as an example.

Whitaker added that Trump is best positioned to judge whether a deal to stop the bloodshed is possible.
