Thanks anon, I quite appreciate it!
And I noticed the thing about the claws after I uploaded that, yeah. The natural, upwards/curved look is what I’m trying to go for, and I redid some of them (I also realized I forgot the paw pads somehow) but I’m still not exactly satisfied with how the claws look and I’m going to have to go back to them later. Drawing normal cats is one thing (and I do them a lot), but attempting to make the claws more articulate like a human hand in order to help MG them is tricky due to the perspective change. Speaking of, I did do a perspective box for the left arm which is probably why it looks better, but I did the right one first and I have to agree with you that the fur definitely needs to be redone. I will trim down the fur on the left one towards the hand a bit too, but the right one is the one that will require more work. That angle should be good, so I will make sure to use it for a reference once I get back to it.
Unfortunately though I’ve noticed that my sharpener seems to have dulled while trying to do her eyes, so I’ll have to get a new one before I can come back to finish her. But that being said, I am happy with how she’s coming out. In the midst of designing her face, I remembered how later versions of the Chimera would add in dragon parts (usually wings or another head) and I thought of fusing the features of a dragon’s face into the head of the snake to mirror her actual head being a combination of Lion and Goat, and I honestly like the image a lot. But the snake suffered from the dulled sharpener too though, as it blunted a lot of the details. When I can finish the rest of her and clean her up a bit, I’ll share her again. Thanks!
Your Chimera’s pretty cool too; you did the arms very well on her!
>though you seem to go for a much more bestial style than I
I dunno, I never thought of it like that. Perhaps it’s due to influence from Luka’s world.
I just think it’s neat.
