And the majority consensus on the movie itself was that it was unquestionably a massive improvement from how dogshit EqG1 was and had a whole lot more to actually enjoy in a broad sense and discuss (EqG1 had discussion but it was mostly about how nothing made any sense vs RR having the fish sluts, Sunset's character arc, and the door left open for more to come in the future unlike how the first tried tie the whole thing up by closing the mirror)
Something that's also been sort of lost to time or not picked up by the skibidi zoomer newfags who came to /mlp/ and/or the fandom after that was how RR was also crazy popular with more than just bronies at the time; I had young nieces in the target audience at the time and they watched the shit out of it, I played events for younger school girls like pageants with a jazz band and it came up there as a favorite movie of contestants alongside what you would've expected like Frozen, and both the catapulting of the series afterwards and the direction it took obviously were aftereffects of RR's success; I'd attribute things like the fact that Sunset became the defacto leader of the spinoff's cast to just how well her character was received after the movie's redemption arc. Otherwise she would've been cucked by SciTwi who Hasjew kept pushing to be an alicorn and center-stage (that was a favorite shitpost of Glimmerniggers for years, too, but thankfully the staff recognized how unbelievably retarded that would be)
