“Frankly speaking, once Tartarus is open, governing this country will be the least of our concerns.” Chryson says. The dark look he gives you indicates he was not yet over the way you’d spoken to him, but he was certainly trying his best to restrain himself. “You can play King all you like while we do what we do best. We’ll unlock the secrets of the past, and ensure the continued success and evolution of Morfis.”

>“Huh? So after all that crap, you’re still willing to back me up? Just at my word?”

“We’d need more than your word.” Lycus says cryptically. “Dexithea, produce the contract.”

Dexithea leaves her podium so that she may walk over to you. In her hands are a piece of paper, and something that resembles a quill.

>“What the hell?” You ask, accepting both items when offered to you by Dexithea. “What kind of language is this? I can’t read a thing.”

“Do you have contracts back in Fodlan?” Nicon asks. “This functions much the same. Though you’ll find breaking it to be quite challenging.”

“It is as Nicon says.” Lycus confirms. “This is a contract. One imbued with sorcery, written in the ancient script of our ancestors. Its terms are simply what we previously discussed. That if you win the Competition, you will pledge to open the gates of Tartarus. In return, we shall throw our full weight behind you, as well as reveal a secret that will trivialize the first half of the Competition, ensuring you make it into the top 8.”

>“And what are the terms for breaking said contract?”

“Let me do you a favor.” Nicon says. “If you’re already thinking about breaking it, you’d best not sign at all.”

A secret that would ensure you make it into the top 8? What could that be? You were still undecided on Tartarus. You weren’t lying when you told Alvin you were curious about what was inside. And you hadn’t exactly given Bronte your word that you’d keep the place closed. With the aid of the Four Sages, you could win Yulia’s hand, be King, and still open up that mausoleum.

>A): Sign the contract.
>B): Do not sign the contract.
>C): My Adjunct should probably look at this before I sign…(LCK Roll: 25% Success)
