It doesn't really make sense that Knuckles is the LAST echidna. Like, he had to have had parents, right? What if he makes it his goal to try and find them? What if he searches around the world and finds people whose grandpa/grandmas were echidnas, or whose cultures were influenced by echidnas in a not-so-distant past? And then those are all clues for him to find his parents or something.
