Upon analysis I've realized a few of my major weaknesses.
1. I always tend to autopilot the same string because it puts me at the perfect range to do spaced scissor kicks. However this string also has a huge gap and relies on people not challenging me after blocking a cr.lp. So I get beaten by people who mash and people who know about the gap. Now I'm implementing more variety of blockstrings and accepting that I don't always need to end in spaced scissors.
2. I keep getting beaten by people with fireballs who do fireball DR, but in the replay most of the time I see fireball DR theres actually a huge gap where I could press a button to check their DR, so I've been labbing specific ranges for every character with a fireball to see where I can put a stop to their slime.
3.I really crumble to people who abuse cross-up jump ins because I always default to just doing Cr.HP. I feel so disrespected by people who do crossup jump into neutral jump.
I know my answer is jump back air mp > mp, but I can never react properly to it. A lot of the time I'll defend against a blockstring and then as soon as I throw a button, they already committed to a cross-up jump and my button whiffs, leaving me with what feels like no time to do my air-to-air.
