I feel like anime has changed since the times of HNK. It used to be about not caring about realism and showing idealized pure moe girls.
But the recent trend is deconstructing everything, gyaru and girls with body counts on the hundreds while having wimp pathetic protagonists like the Rent-A-Gf guy.
What happened? Is it because anime became mainstream?
I want to go back!
