You keep flying, the front getting closer and the wind getting stronger, choppier and colder as it does, but it doesn't hinder Rascal much, if at all as he rides the air currents after Martha's pokemon.
You feel like a block of ice. It wouldn't surprise you in the least if you were hypothermic.
Despite never having seen your hometown from the air before, by late afternoon, you're in the lead as the front is looming large and random spatters of rain assail you and the others as you coax Rascal in towards town.
Fortunately, the pokemon center is very easy to spot from the air and you guide Rascal in to land in the court around the side, before with some difficulty, you unbuckle yourself from his back and guide him to the side to allow Martha and the others to land while you divest Rascal of his saddle.
To your private incredulity, he doesn't seem in the least bit tired.
He stands tall and proud, breathing evenly and looking to the looming front as if he intends to challenge it to a fight.
"Good job, Rascal." You say, patting his shoulder with a hand that's lost most of its feeling, aside from a bitter ache and a rubbery feeling in your fingers, as if you'd sat on your hands for an hour straight.
He crows in appreciation before you recall him and hurry to help Martha unsaddle her pokemon and help Gareth and Holly inside the pokemon centre where it's warm.
