The biggest mistake the west made in this war is to let the rampant hatred of Russia take root, it didn't take long for the Russian people to be flocking to the Banner, and supporting Putin.
It's actually rather smart by not going full kill kill kill. it also makes it seem like the other side isn't the enemy really, which garners allot of support.
But i do like the Zap Brannigan reference.

Russia was smart and mixed the Norks into Tuvan battalions and just said no not real ad nauseum.
and i don't doubt it, the Norks have a Nuke they can send troops to the Russian Frontline they can be sovereign, South Korea on the other hand couldn't, plus South korea is the true Liberal state and even when Trump offered a Nuke ages ago they just said NO. this has been a extreme oversight for them.
As for Tunnel warfare i'm unsure from reports they kept shooting all drones they saw -not a bad idea to be honest ahead of the curve if you will- i think it's far more getting some troops battle hardened and Experienced to strengthen their military and learn some lessons on modern warfare. it never hurts.
