That's not escapism, that's doing pic related. Escapism is about averting your eyes from reality. It's sticking your head in the sand, shoving yourself under the cover so monsters can't get you.
Eventually, you learn to not even think about it. You don't even remember you're doing it. It happens because it's easier to do it than face the music.
