Moreover, 1 John 5:18

Refers to the new man as well (the spiritual), John wrote this 1 John 1:8

Do you think the Apostle John was not saved?

The Apostle Paul says here that he does evil, even contrary to his will, verses 20-23 go on to describe the old man (carnal) vs the new man (spiritual)
Did he sin because he was he not saved? I tell you both of them were saved.

Agreed, He's my Lord and Savior, and I ought to follow Him, but out of love, and not necessity. Tell me anon, is He your savior? or are you relying on your works? It can either be by works (you are then a debtor to follow the law perfectly as per James 2:10) or by grace as per John 3:16.
