The original Anglo Saxons and Normans were like 2/3rds Celts/Gauls to begin with. It’s the reason there is barely any actual Germanic haplogroup in the UK, outside of Viking raid hotspots, who brought a little bit of I1A with them. The vast majority of Western Europeans are Gaulish/Celt by ancestry and R1B.
