It's actually criminal that they included 1 because it's obvious that it stopped players from playing 2 and 3, which are clearly superior.

I got used to them, it's just that the levels and bosses felt like they weren't playtested in anyway, whereas 2 and 3 feel like they were gone through with a fine tooth comb.
3 was good and interesting, but it just wasn't as groundbreaking as 2 for me. The unique levels (the air and bike levels for example) would be good if it meant more standard platformer levels.
Also watched a cringe YouTuber who said 1 was their favorite in the collection because of its shit design -- I'll never understand contrarians. Beating Stormy Ascent wasn't fun because the game controls like ass and I was just glad the horror was over.
