Both sides of the argument are being insufferable right now. Truth is, everyone wants to have fun with the game, but the two camps will never see eye to eye because the Yu-Gi-Ohs they find fun in are inherently different. The idealized YGO vs the paper YGO. The playground YGO vs the tournament YGO. The people who enjoy the former find the latter miserable because playing with the cards they like or unique strategies isn't nearly enough to stand a chance, the people who enjoy the latter find the former boring because of the lack of skill expression and competition. The people who play the former do so at home with friends in made up formats or with drafted/bulk cards, the people who play the latter do so at locals and regionals.
No point in fighting over it further because they might as well be playing different games with the same rules.
