Wacky Scientist creates a device to allow dreams to manifest in our reality, this goes wrong when Nightmare Viruses take over the manifested dreams, corrupting them into monstrous kaijin while trapping their human in a looping nightmare.

A second test subject is used to create the Rider system in order to stop the kajin and save the people effected by them.
